SLA
Stereolithography (SLA) is a pioneering 3D printing process that uses a laser to solidify photosensitive resin into layered objects. Originating in the 1980s, initially in the automotive industry, it now sees broad use across various sectors, including medical production and dentistry.
The SLA process begins with a thin layer of liquid polymer spread on a platform. A UV laser then draws the model's outline onto the resin, hardening the touched areas. Unhardened resin is reused for future models. Post-printing involves removing support structures and surface finishing.
